North American esports organisation and lifestyle brand XSET has announced a merchandise collaboration with luxury streetwear brand mastermind JAPAN.
The merch drop will include hoodies, shirts and headsets that will be created alongside HyperX, XSET’s peripherals parter.
This is the fist entry into esports for mastermind JAPAN, one of the most recognisable streetwear brands from Japan, founded in 1997.
Mastermind is perhaps most famous for its skull and crossbones logo, which is featured prominently on the upcoming XSET collaboration. Mastermind is on the higher end of the streetwear market.
The limited edition merchandise drop will only be available during pop culture festival ComplexCon in Long Beach, California from November 19-20th.
Notably, HyperX has joined as part of the collaboration. Headsets customised with the mastermind JAPAN branding will also be one of the rare occasions buyers can get their hands on customised versions of these headphones.
XSET has recently created its Gaming Dept. Limited Capsule, and has invested into streetwear and fashion that includes elements of gaming culture. It comes off the back of XSET’s $15m (~£12.5m) seed round in July, which was led by LightWorld, another streetwear brand.
Masaaki Homma, Founder of mastermind JAPAN, said: “As we evaluated how we could expand our brand into the gaming community, it was clear XSET’s emergence as a gaming and lifestyle organization was the strategic choice for mastermind.
“We can’t wait to share this first collection with the fans at ComplexCon.”
