Why Some Grand Theft Auto Fans Think the GTA 6 Reveal Could Happen Soon

[ad_1]

Some Grand Theft Auto fans believe that a proper reveal for Grand Theft Auto 6 could happen this month, though they should certainly keep their expectations in check. Rockstar Games has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 is in development, and while a huge leak has revealed a lot more about the project, there haven’t been any other official reveals about the game. The best guess from insiders is that the Grand Theft Auto 6 release date is at least two to three years away, and so it may be quite some time before fans get a trailer.

While the most likely scenario is that fans will be waiting a year or more to see Grand Theft Auto 6, there is the outside possibility that a reveal could happen this month. Some members of the GTA community have pointed out that there are some important dates this month that Rockstar may want to use to give fans a glimpse of the new game, even if it’s only through concept art or a logo reveal instead of a full trailer.

October 29 marks the 20th anniversary of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, a game that has a direct connection to Grand Theft Auto 6. While insiders leaked the news ahead of time, the Rockstar Games hack confirmed what many already assumed: Grand Theft Auto 6 takes place in Vice City. Since GTA 6 is set in Vice City, it would make sense for Rockstar to use the original game’s anniversary to unveil the new project or celebrate it in some way.

Something working against this theory is that October 29 falls on a Saturday, and generally speaking, game announcements and reveals happen on weekdays. However, October has historically been an important month for the Grand Theft Auto franchise in general, so that’s why some fans still think a reveal could happen this month. Not only did Grand Theft Auto: Vice City release in October 20 years ago, but Grand Theft Auto 3 and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas also launched in October in the years they released as well.

Besides that, it’s also worth pointing out that 2022 marks the 25th anniversary of the Grand Theft Auto franchise as a whole. Other game companies have marked such an occasion with big announcements, and it’s possible Rockstar will do the same. The first Grand Theft Auto game released on November 28, 1997, and so if no reveal happens this month, maybe the announcement could take place then.

Ultimately, it’s important that Grand Theft Auto fans don’t get their hopes up about a GTA 6 reveal happening any time soon. While October and November both seem like prime candidates for a reveal to take place, it’s possible Rockstar will decide to keep the game hidden for now, especially in the wake of the massive Grand Theft Auto 6 leak that happened recently. Time will tell, but the GTA 6 reveal has to happen at some point, so if 2022 comes to a close with no such reveal, maybe 2023 will finally bring the highly-anticipated game’s first trailer to the masses.
