It is that time of the year when you see some of your beloved titles from 2022 get awarded across various categories. The Game Awards are one of the most auspicious events for gaming, and of course, there is some tension involved as to who will be crowned as the Game of the Year for 2022. Another great thing about this event is that apart from the awards, players also get to see a whole bunch of world premieres at the event.
Dead Cells X Castlevania DLC World Premiere
The first World Premiere we got to see was the new Castlevania DLC that includes Dead Cells. Players got to see an impressive cinematic video showing off three characters taking the fight to the king.
Vampire Survivors Mobile
Vampire Survivors just received its first major DLC and players are still buzzing about it, and they just broke more exciting news for the players. Vampire Survivors will now be coming to mobile gaming for iOS and Android. The game will be available for all players for absolutely no cost.
Sony PlayStation has been following their latest trend of providing their exclusive titles for PC. They have released the likes of God of War 2018, Horizon Zero Dawn, Uncharted and more. At The Game Awards 2022 a brand-new title is being ported to PC and it’s none other than last year’s winner, Returnal.
Valiant Hearts: Coming Home
Valiant Hearts, an indie title will be coming to the mobile gaming platform. This game will be coming to you from Netflix. This title is set in the world war era and players will see themselves solving puzzles and exploring all types of adventures in the title.
Hellboy Web of Wyrd
Then came the time for an unexpected annoucement. Yes, Hellboy is getting a game and this one is tilted Hellboy Web of Wyrd. We got to see their animation style, which looks a lot like Telltale’s style of animation. We also got to see a glimpse of gameplay and Hellboy in action at The Game Awards 2022.
Scars Above, Relic Hunters and Atomic Hearts
Scars Above, Relic Hunters and Atomic Hearts all got brand-new trailers for players to check out the gameplay, cinematics and overall theme of the titles. Players also came to know the release date for Atomic Hearts, which is set for February 28, 2023.
Among Us Hide and Seek
Among Us was another title that has received a new game mode at the event, a new mode has been announced called Hide Seek. Players will have one perpetrator following them around, and the players will have to use the environment to hide themselves and survive the timer.
After Us is a post-apocalyptic platformer, and the players just received a trailer for the game at The Game Awards 2022. As of now, there is no concrete release date for the title, but we did get a release video, which has been set for Spring 2023.
Replaced is a 2.5D sci-fi retro-futuristic action platformer, where players step into the shoes of R.E.A.C.H. They will work against constant conflict as they are artificial intelligence that is imprisoned in a human body. The game is set to release in 2023.
Street Fighter 6
Street Fighter 6 is a title that we have learned a lot about over the past year, but the only thing we were lacking was a release window. The Game Awards 2022 has provided us with that, and players can expect to play Street Fighter VI by June 2, 2023. We also got to see amie, JP, Kimberly, Lily, Manon, and Marisa in action through the new gameplay trailer.
Another unlikely but much needed announcement that was made at the event was Hades 2. Not only did we get to see the gameplay, but also had the opportunity to come face to face with the next big baddie in the game, Zeus. As of now, no release date has been provided for the title.
The next title we were graced with was from the creators of Bioshock, Judas. Judas is a single player, narrative-based, first-person shooter. Players are on a disintegrating starship and have to cook up a desperate escape plan. Players will have to befriend their worst enemies just to survive the approaching threat.
Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demons was the next title announced at the Game Awards 2022. We all know how overpowered Bayonetta is, but the question is how did she reach that level. This game will explain the origins of Bayonetta and how she became the strongest witch there is.
Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord
Then came the next PSVR 2 title to look forward to, Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord. Players will be able to build their own Ghostbusters HQ in a new city, San Francisco, from scratch and solve a deep mystery across a new chapter in the Ghostbusters universe.
Destiny 2: Lightfall
The next announcement was one of the most anticipated expansions for Destiny 2, Lightfall. Players got a showcase of the new intriguing location, Neomuna and also the new darkness power, Strand. Players can expect to play this expansion by February 28, 2023.
Last of Us: Part 1 Remake PC
Continuing their trend of porting games to PC, the next title being ported has also been announced. The visual masterpiece remade in 4k HDR will have you stoked. Players received a new trailer and a release date for PC, which has been set for March 3, 2023.
Star Wars: Jedi Survivor
You have seen the story of Cal Kestis awakening his powers and slowly becoming a part of what remains of the Jedi Order. The story of the previous game ended with the squad going on the search for any other Jedi Survivors out there in this perilous world. The sequel to the game has just been announced at the Game Awards 2022, and it has been dubbed as Star Wars: Jedi Survivor. Player’s received a new gameplay trailer along with a March 17, 2023 release date.
Players got a pre-alpha glimpse of the highly anticipated MMO, Dune Awakening. We got to witness a brief experience of how the world would look like in this AAA title. The game will be released on Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Players will get to know more about the game on a later date.
The next announcement was a playable demo that will be available for PlayStation tonight, Forspoken. Players will get to control Frey and see her powers in action ahead of the game’s release, which is set for January 24, 2023. Right now, players can get a small glimpse of what Square Enix has in store for us.
Death Stranding 2
The next world premiere was from none other than the man himself, Hideo Kojima. A game that is being teased for almost forever has just been announced, and it’s the sequel to 2019’s Death Stranding. Players will see the return of fan favourite actor, Norman Reedus along with new entries, Elle Fanning and Shioli Kutsuna.
Players already knew that a Tekken 8 reveal for scheduled for The Game Awards 2022, and they have just delivered. We get to see an all-new trailer where we see some high-fidelity visuals along with some complex martial art moves by Jin and Kazuya. On top of that, the developers have also promised additional environmental effects that will add to the immersion. As of now, we do not have a release date, but we do know it’s coming for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
A title that was announced at last year’s The Game Awards just received a new trailer at the event. Players get to see the new realms, beasts and everything else they will come across in this world survival title. The game is set in the Victorian Era and will be using all new features that come with Unreal Engine 5. Players can expect early access to the title in the first half of 2023.
Baldur’s Gate 3
Baldur’s Gate 3, a game that we know about since some time now, has finally received a release window, which is August 2023. Players have also been informed about the return of two characters, Minsc and Jaheira. We also got to see the city of Baldur’s Gate and how it will look and feel in the game.
The next reveal was for an all new free-to-play RPG title, Wayfinder, coming to us from the publisher of Warframe, Digital Extremes. Players will see a variety of new characters along with a plethora of dungeons to conquer. Players can also look forward to a beta playtest for PC on December 13 and for console in January 2023.
Fire Emblem Engage DLC
Fire Emblem Engage announced their first paid DLC, which will include characters from the Three Houses. Players will Edelgard, Dimitri, Claude and Tiki enter the expansion. The expansion will be available on the same day as the game releases, January 20, 2023. Players can expect three more DLCs through the course of 2023.
Diablo 4 has just received a release date, which has been set for June 6, 2023. It is the next instalment to the action RPG series, brought to us by Blizzard Entertainment. Players also got a new trailer that showcases never seen before elements of the title.
Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores DLC
Aloy also appeared at the Game Awards 2022, flying atop a dangerous volcano. Through this expansion, players will see Aloy’s adventure continue in the untamed wilds of Los Angeles. Players can expect a brand-new storyline, interactions with fresh characters and all new adventure to set foot on. Players can expect Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores DLC by April 19, 2023 on PlayStation 5.
Anime fans can now look forward to a brand-new MMO called Blue Protocol, developed by Amazon Games, Bandai Namco and Bandai Online. Players can expect the game to come on PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 in the second half of 2023. The closed beta test for this title will be available on PC in the first half of 2023.
The sequel to Gunfire Game’s Remnant Form the Ashes has been announced and it has been dubbed as Remnant 2. Players were graced with a trailer that saw the third-person shooter in action. As of now we do not have a release date, but players can expect the game to release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
Transformers Reactivate, which was called Transformers Rise, originally has been announced at The Game Awards 2022. An all-new threat has arrived and taken over the Earth, and it is up to the Autobots to save humanity. Players can expect a closed beta for this 1-4 players online action title at some point in 2023.
The next VR title that was announced at this event was Behemoth. It is set in the Nordic Era, where players need to fight to survive. We received an all new VR trailer for the Metaquest. Players can explore icy caves, take on ravaging beasts and enjoy a riveting story.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2
Then came the next Warhammer title, a sequel to the original Space Marine. The Galaxy is again under threat and players need to save the crumbling worlds and help out the Imperium in this third-person shooter hack-n-slash title. The game is being developed by Saber Interactive and published by Focus Entertainment.
Meet Your Maker
The first-person building-and-raiding game has just received an all new trailer along with a release date. The game will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S on April 4, 2023. The game comes from the team behind Dead by Daylight, Behaviour Interactive.
Crash Team Rumble
Crash Bandicoot literally crashed the show to announce the upcoming title, Crash Team Rumble. In thistitle,e players will be able to indulge in 4v4 Crash Bandicoot fun. Players can expect this title to release in 2023 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
The Lords of the Fallen
The title that was announced earlier this year got an all new trailer, which was narrated by House of the Dragon’s Milly Alcock. Players also got to see some gory gameplay going with a dark fantasy theme. There is no confirmed release date, but players can expect this game on PlayStation 5, PC and Xbox Series X/S.
Crime Boss: Rockay City
The next first-person shooter title has been announced, but what’s special about this game is the star-studded cast that includes, Chuck Norris, Michael Rooker, and Vanilla Ice. Players have to work towards becoming the King of Rockay City, which can be done alone or with friends. The game is set to release on March 28, 2023.
Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty DLC
Next came more information on the highly anticipated paid expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, Phantom Liberty. The most exciting bit of information that was revealed was that apart from Keanu Reeves, players will be seeing The Harder They Fall actor, Idris Alba joining the cast. Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty DLC expansion releases in 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon
One of the more action-packed trailers at the event was for a game that is receiving a sequel, exactly 10 years after the release of the previous title. The third-person shooter is being brought to us by the developers of Elden Ring, FromSoftware. As of now, no release date has been announced, but players can expect to play this title on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
Final Fantasy XVI
Final Fantasy XVI has received an all new trailer, titled ‘Revenge’ and a much awaited release date, which has been set for June 22, 2023. The game has been said to be an exclusive for the PlayStation 5 and will be completely different from Final Fantasy XV.
