The 2022 roster changes continue with 2 new additions to NAVI esports club! Join us as we break down the announcement
NAVI, one of the most well-known teams in CIS, adds some new blood to its roster. NAVI is a fan favorite team and is a true household name of the Dota 2 community since the first International. But over the past couple years, the team has had been on a decline with their performances. However, with the two recent additions of Nikita “Nicky`Cool” Ostakhov and Arman “Malady” Orazbayev, hopefully they can jumpstart NAVI back to fighting shape.
A History lesson on NAVI’s new roster
The roster changes in the CIS region continue with NAVI’s new roster. This time with NAVI. The two new players joining the roster are Nikita “Nicky`Cool” Ostakhov and Arman “Malady” Orazbayev. Currently, the top-ranked player in the CIS region is Malady, while Nicky`Cool holds the 55th spot. So, suffice to say, they are quite experienced at playing at a high level of Dota.
In terms of their history, only Malady has performed in the past at a competitive level. Prior to joining the NAVI roster, the position 5 player played with both V-Gaming and Hellraisers. And over the last season, he managed to secure a first-place finish in both the Division two DPC and the European Pro League Season 4.
Nicky`Cool on the other hand is making his professional Dota 2 career debut with the NAVI roster. A debut with such a well-known team is quite an accomplishment, especially because he will be taking on the role of mid-lanner. A position previously filled by one of the CIS greats, Volodymyr “No[o]ne” Minenko.
The future of NAVI
The new NAVI roster is locked in and will debut in the winter Dota Pro Circuit 2023. You can check out the full blog post regarding the roster shuffle on the NAVI website. The Dota 2 community has its eyes on the new roster comprised of:

- Nikita “Nicky`Cool” Ostakhov
- Vladyslav “laise” Lais
- Georgii “swedenstrong” Zainalabidov
