Yet another skin is added to Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered by the modding community, this one focusing on the popular ‘Spooderman’ meme.
There seems to be no end to the amount of mods being added to Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on PC, and now, modders have brought the popular Spooderman meme into the game as a playable skin. The amount of mods now available for Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered is staggering. It’s also a showcase of talent and creativity from the modding community for Marvel’s Spider-Man that new mods are still being created months after the game’s release on PC. While there have been all kinds of mods created for the game since then, this one is notable for bringing new life into a meme while simultaneously adding even more content to the game.
PC versions of games are highly requested for the ability to mod the game and make it a fresh experience for years to come. Marvel’s Spier-Man Remastered, in particular, has drawn a huge modding community to this former PlayStation-exclusive title. While a lot of mods for the game are even more suits and different characters to replace Spidey, like being able to play as Daredevil in Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, there are also mods that take a hilarious turn, and that’s the case for Spooderman. Spooderman is often referred to as a poorly drawn version of Spider-Man and one that typically uses vulgar language.
The mod was created by Nexus Mods user TangoTeds and uploaded to the site by Tangoted. The mod found a larger audience in a post made to Reddit by user kaan101xp, which displayed the mod for all to see. This mod, unlike a lot of mods like the one to play as Spider-Gwen in Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, actually requires a bit more effort to make work in the game, as the cosmetic itself does not work without an additional modding tool, according to the mod’s description on Nexus Mods.
To make the Spooderman mod work, users will have to download another mod called the Adding New Suits To New Slots Tool, which was created by Nexus Mod user ASCtheWhiteWolf. This mod, much as the name suggests, allows users to more slots for suits than the game normally allows. Most cosmetic mods just replace another suit in the game, such as playing as Tobey Maguire in his “pizza time” outfit replacing the “undies” costume in Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered.
The majority of mods for the game are cosmetic only and do not change how the game is played; players will still be swinging around the city as if they are Spider-Man, even if they choose to use a mod to play as Wolverine in Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered instead. Though, given how creative and passionate the modding community is for this game, it seems to be just a matter of time before there are mods that drastically change gameplay scenarios or create entire new areas in the game.
Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered is available for PC and PS5.
