Even when Clash Royale first came out, there was a way to give money to the game. It was too expensive and didn’t seem like it would be worth it to give, but how is it now? Is Clash Royale a “pay-to-win” game? If you read the guide, you’ll know.
Clash Royale has a “Contribute System.”
When Clash Royale came out, many different deals started popping up, and this is still happening. The game also got the Battle Pass system. Every day, there are more and more things you can buy with real money. That makes you wonder if you have to pay to win the game.
Sadly, that’s true.
In Clash Royale, you have to pay to win. Donating gives you a lot of benefits. You get better at the game if you pay for it, and when champions came out, this was made very clear.
Most people think champions are the last step toward making Clash Royale a pay-to-win game. Of course, you can get the same outcome without buying items in the game with real money. But when you open the Silver Chest, the Legendary King’s Chest gives a new legendary to someone else.
At this point, there are no more things in the game that you can’t buy with real money. With a Battle Pass, you can try Challenges as often as you want. The mode that should require skill turns into a pay-to-win model. Even special challenges became impossible to finish without “buying more tries.”
You have to pay to win most Supercell games. People say they are free to play, but you have to pay to win. This includes Brawl Stars, Clash of Clans, and Clash Royale. If you want to get far in these games, you’ll have to spend all your time on them.
How to pay in Clash Royale to win
So why are you still playing for free? You’ve already come this far. Come on, and you have to be able to find a few bucks to spend on your new hobby, right?
Cut back on drugs and alcohol for a few days and use the money you saved to buy some beautiful green gems. But before you go crazy, read the tips below and figure out how to make the most of what you have.

Spend your money if you wish to!
If you like the game and have enough money, you shouldn’t feel bad about buying gems. Sure, free stuff is great. Who doesn’t like getting something for nothing? But do you want to struggle in the lower leagues while a 10-year-old with wealthy parents keeps beating you? Nobody would want that.
Don’t let people make you feel bad about spending money on IAP by telling you that it’s a waste. It’s unnecessary, but someone has to pay for all of Supercell’s wonderful programmers, and it could be you.
I’ve heard that the best players have spent about $20,000 to max out their cards, so don’t feel bad about that drunken purchase you made after losing 10 games in a row.
Buy gold and cards instead of chests.
When I first started playing, I bought some gems, got excited, and bought a “Super Magical Chest.” Yes, it’s a lot of fun. Yes, it does give you a lot of cards. No, it’s not worth the price. Even though it seems like you get a lot from these chests, all you get are a lot of cards you may never use.
In Clash Royale, The best thing to do with gems is to buy gold. Every eight hours, cards are put up for sale in the shop. The price of common cards seems to be around 3 gold, while the price of epic cards is 2,000 gold (this is on Arena 4, so it might be different on another arena). This means you can buy the exact cards you want and don’t forget that you’ll win a big chest every so often.
A Redditor looked into the game code and found that the chests you win are on a cycle. For every 240 chests, you’ll get a certain number of chest types. If you win a fight, you have a 1 in 4 chance of receiving a Gold Chest, a 1 in 100 chance of receiving a Magical Chest, and (long breath) a 1 in 1,000 chance of receiving a Super Magical Chest. You’d be wise to play a few more games!
When I first started playing, I was also impatient enough to use the gems I’d bought to open chests early. Again, it feels good, but it doesn’t make sense. Be patient, and you’ll get what you want.
You’ll also have a lot more gems to buy gold with. Please don’t waste your money as I did. That might be what Supercell wants, but it’s not a good long-term plan.
