Fortnite Chapter 3 has finally reached its end and the time has come for Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1. Most importantly, the new season brings Unreal Engine 5.1 features that will enhance the overall visual fidelity. On top of that, the developers have added a plethora of new features and content for the players to try out. Check out the new trailer below:

New Island
Firstly, players should know that like every chapter, this chapter has also seen significant changes to the Island. The finale event of Chapter 3 completely revamped the island, bringing new POIs such as the Brutal Bastion among the mountains, The Citadel ruled by “The Ageless,” the Shattered Slabs mining facility, and more.
Dirt Bikes
The latest addition to the traversal mechanics of Fortnite is dirt bikes. The Trail Trasher will be a formidable companion for traversal as it brings speed and agility to the mix. Players can ride the island, perform some cool tricks and also engage in mounted combat in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1.
Reality Augments
Reality Augments is also a new addition to the latest chapter, and it provides players with special benefits that will give them an edge over the competition. Players will be granted a randomized choice of two Reality Augments at different intervals during the match. The longer they survive, the more Augments they’ll manage to collect. The benefits of these Reality Augments include, driving without consuming fuel, different weapons, glider redeploy and more.
Hurdles
A new traversal mechanic that has been added to the game is hurdling over or onto objects. Players will just have to sprint towards an obstacle, and they will end up hurdling over or onto it, depending on its size and stature. They can use this maneuver to their advantage and gain higher ground over their enemies.
New Weapons
A bunch of new weapons have been added to the arsenal that Fortnite provides. Players can now find the Shockwave Hammer, Ex-Caliber Rifle, Thunder Shotgun, Maven Auto Shotgun, Tactical Pistol, Red-Eye Assault Rifle, and Twin Mag SMG spread across the island.
Capture POIs
Another new addition to the latest chapter of Fortnite is that players can now capture POIs. This can be done by sticking around the POI’s capture point for a specific amount of time. Once captured, it will display the team’s banner in the area to show the players who have claimed the territory. Capturing POIs will reward the team with loot chests, and enemies in and around the area will be marked.
Nature is your Ally
In Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1, players will be able to use elements of nature to help them in battle. They can use Slap Berries to gain effective health and short-term unlimited energy regen. Players can also build a snowball and roll inside of it or use a Kinetic Ore to use some physics sorcery.
New Battle Pass
A new season always brings a new Battle Pass, but what’s special about this is one is the content they will be able to unlock through it. Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 Battle Pass will allow players to immediately unlock Selene Outfit. By progressing through the tiers, they will unlock more outfits such as The Ageless, The Doom Slayer and More. Later on in the season, they will be to unlock the one and only Gerat or Rivia.
Unreal Engine 5.1 Features
Last but not the least is the addition of Unreal Engine 5.1 features. The update Engine brings a “generational leap in visual fidelity, bringing an unprecedented level of detail to fully immersive worlds, including the Battle Royale Island”. Other than that, Unreal Engine 5 features such as Nanite, Lumen, Virtual Shadow Maps, and Temporal Super Resolution are now available in Fortnite Battle Royale on PlayStation 5.
On the topic of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1, it seems that Doom Slayer and Geralt of Rivia aren’t the only characters that are arriving to the Island. As spotted by InsiderGaming, it seems that the Hulk and Mr. Beast will also be added to the already massive roster of characters.
