We’re less than three weeks away from the launch of Season 18 on Bungie’s popular MMORPG title, Destiny 2.
The new season brings many new changes to the game, which includes SBMM to control playlists and many others. Along with that, Guardians will also receive a new Raid to mess around with, and the developers seem to be quite excited about the prospects of introducing a Destiny Raid into the sequel.
The last time Bungie added an old Raid, it was the Vault of Glass, which became a huge success when it released with Season of the Splicer, and fans are now wondering which Raid from the Destiny Content Vault the developers will be looking to unvault for the upcoming season.
According to a recent This Week At Bungie blog post, the developers confirmed that the Raid will launch three days after the release of Season 18. However, it’s very likely that news about the Raid will become public during launch day.
At the moment, the developers have the choice to bring back Raids like Crota’s End, King’s Fall and Wrath of the Machine from Destiny 2. The most plausible addition seems to be Wrath of the Machine because of Season 18’s theme, which is rumored to be around the Fallen.
While the Vault of Glass was never factored into the plot lines of Destiny 2, the Vex-themed Raid did make its appearance during Season of the Splicer, which was heavily focused on the Vex itself.
Other than that, in an interview with Polygon last year, Destiny 2 game director Joe Blackburn also confirmed that the developers are looking to bring back a banger Raid from the original title, which sidelines Crota’s End from the list of options. However, it isn’t unlikely for King’s Fall to be a surprise addition, and it will be interesting to see which location will make their way to Destiny 2 on August 26.
