Cyberpunk 2077 is set to receive a Game of the Year edition.
CD Projekt Red CEO Adam Kicinski stated in an investor meeting that the studio will release a Game of the Year edition after launching th Phantom Liberty DLC.
This is according to a report by Insider Gaming, which quotes Kicinski as saying the following about Cyberpunk 2077’s GOTY edition:
“It’s the natural order of things – it was the same with The Witcher, which after both expansions was finally released as a Game of the Year Edition and has been on the market that way ever since. The same can be expected in this case.”
Phantom Liberty will be a paid DLC expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, unlike the Edgerunners update.
The spy-thriller expansion will be set in a new district of Night City. It will feature a new story along with weapons, cosmetics, and more. Keanu Reeves will also return to the game as Johnny SIlverhand.
In October, CD Projekt Red announced codenames for five new games, one of which is a new Cyberpunk title codenamed Orion.
“A codename for our next Cyberpunk game, which will take the Cyberpunk franchise further and continue harnessing the potential of this dark future universe,” the company described the project in a release. The game will be made by a brand new studio.
