Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion – How To Heal

[ad_1]

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion follows Zack Fair on his journey to become a SOLDIER First Class. Shortly into the game’s introduction, the aspiring SOLDIER is launched into a series of battles where players are given the chance to learn the controls. There’s a lot of information thrown around during this segment, so players will need to pay close attention if they hope to retain it all.

Healing in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion is a relatively straightforward process once the player knows how to do it, but it can take some getting used to. Aside from completing battle objectives, there are four definitive ways for Zack to heal, but some methods are arguably a lot handier than others.

Healing With Items

Upon exiting the train during the tutorial segment of Crisis Core, Zack will be thrust into a battle against a group of Shinra Soldiers. These enemies go down quite easily, but defeating the Behemoth in the next area can pose quite a challenge if the player isn’t careful.

During this battle, a prompt will appear informing the player how to use items while in battle. By pressing Circle (PS), B (Xbox), or A (Switch), Zack will use whatever item is selected in the lower right menu. The Trigger buttons can be toggled to switch between the eight available item slots.

Healing With Materia

Using Materia to heal is quite convenient, as the player can slot the Materia to the button of their choosing. While in combat, holding the left shoulder button will reveal a menu that highlights the Materia Zack has equipped. At the beginning of the game, the player will have four slots to choose from, but they will later unlock more.

To use these slots for healing, the player must equip a Cure Materia to one of the corresponding slots. The spell will still function the same way no matter the button it has been assigned to, so the player can slot it wherever they prefer. Once it has been assigned a slot, Zack will be able to use restorative magic in combat.

While in-between battles, the player will be given the option to heal Zack by pressing Circle (PS), B (Xbox), or A (Switch). Doing so will use a Potion, and since they are somewhat finite during the beginning of the game, it is often better to rely on Zack’s Materia to heal.

For those who wish to make use of their Cure Materia, selecting “Materia” in the main menu will grant them access to all the Materia collected. To heal from this menu, all the player needs to do is select the spell they want to use. A quick chime will sound once the Materia has been selected, confirming that it has been used successfully.

Healing At A Save Point

Like most Final Fantasy games, interacting with a save point in Crisis Core will completely restore Zack’s HP, MP, and AP. Though the player isn’t required to inspect every save point they pass on their journey, doing so regularly will spare them from using any unnecessary restorative items.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Switch.
