Which Anime Demographics Are Represented In Fall 2022?
Most anime are adaptations of manga, and these stories can be split into a handful of demographics: Shonen, seinen, shojo, josei, and kodomo. While far from evenly split, Fall 2022 has a few series that fall into each category.
Shonen (Teen Boys) |
Seinen (Young Men) |
Shojo (Teen Girls) |
Kodomo (Kids) |
|

Only anime based on manga are listed, including shows based on light novels that also have manga adaptations. Long-running kodomo series that are not available or known in North America have been excluded.
A few anime’s chosen demographics are debatable. For instance, I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss‘ short-lived manga was published by Comp Ace, a predominantly seinen magazine; however, the story is a better fit for shojo.
